This anointed woman of God is known to many as a sister, friend, teacher, co-worker, mentor, pastor, and prayer warrior. She had made outstanding contributions in the areas of religion, education, and community service. As a great mentor and educator, she has encouraged many individuals to obtain their goals by furthering their education.
Her dynamic preaching and teaching have caused many individuals to surrender their lives to Christ.
Prelate Charlene M. Jamison was born on April 15th in Jacksonville, Florida. At the age of five, she began attending The House of God, Church Keith Dominion in Ocala, Florida . Under the leadership of Bishop W. L. Nelson, she had the Acts Chapter Two experience, meaning she was filled with the Holy Ghost. As a result of being filled with the Holy Spirit, she vowed to be a vessel of God and to do the work of Him that sent her.
Professional Experience:
She received her elementary and high school education in the public schools of Dade (Miami) and Marion (Ocala) counties. As a distinguished, honor student she received academic scholarships to Talladega College and Bethune-Cookman College. She completed her undergraduate studies in 1964 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English. Her passion for higher education caused her to further her studies at the University of Florida in Gainesville and Nova Southeastern University, located in Davie, Florida.
She taught English for 30 years; during these years she continued to yield to the voice of the Lord. In June 2004, she retired from The School Board of Broward County Florida and continued to work [full-time] in the ministry.
Religious Activities:
At an early age, she began participating on church programs , singing and speaking. Her work with the youth in the church and in the community has always paralleled her walk with Christ as she grew up working in the Church as a youth leader, speaker, layman, , local minister, presiding elder , general elder, State Presiding Prelate of Florida 4 Diocese, Michigan, and now The New Jersey Diocese and Assistant Bishop to the Florida East Coast Diocese.
The Lord continued to bless her efforts and used her as an instrument to renovate numerous churches and help pay off the financial obligations of another: Ocala, Florida , Fort Lauderdale, Florida .After many years of service within this church. The late Bishop J. C. Elliott appointed her to serve as pastor of the Daytona Beach Church (1986-1991). Her renovation efforts continued and the Daytona church was totally renovated and new church furniture was purchased. Also, land adjoining to the church was purchased for future expansion. While pastoring in Daytona, they held the first Men and Women’s Day Program to secure funds for a badly needed roof. People came from across the United States to assist in this endeavor. The event became the annual fundraising activity where participants joyfully attended to have a spiritual and financial feast.
After rendering service in Daytona Beach, she received an appointment to do mission work in the Orlando area. There she organized a mission and pastored the congregation for one year before receiving an appointment to go to Delray Beach. As the assistant pastor of Delray #1, she led the fundraising efforts to help pay off church financial obligations.
In 1998, State Elder Jamison was appointed assistant pastor of Band #1 in Pompano Beach, Florida. In March 2000, she was appointed pastor of the church in Perrine and served in that capacity for four years. After the death of General Elder Carrie Holt in August of 2004, State Elder Jamison was appointed pastor of The House of God Church in West Hollywood, Florida. Currently, she is still serving as the shepherd of the West Hollywood Church. Having a vision for God’s house, the church has undergone an outside facelift and is currently undergoing an inside renovation project.
On the National/International level of the Church, Trial Bishop Jamison served for 25 years as the Young Folks and Friends Union (YFFU) secretary, receiving the first Merit Service Award given by the YFFU in 1999 for service to the youth. She also served as the national lodging assistant for several years. Presently, she is serving as the Chairperson of the National Publication Committee, alternate on the Supreme Executive Council and the General Trustee Board, Secretary of the National Construction and Renovation Committee, and in various other capacities.
On the State level, she serves as Ministers’ Council President Emeritus and State Secretary. This renowned leader is also a member of the, State Trustee Board, Co-Chairperson of the Examination for the Confirmation and Ordination Committee, and also a member of the State Preparation Committee, State Building Oversight Committee and Vice-Chairperson of the Grievance Committee. Additionally, she was appointed Trial Bishop and the Presiding Bishop of the Florida #4 Diocese in the June 2013 General Assembly, where she faithfully served until her reassignment in 2019, to the Michigan and New Jersey Dioceses. On Monday, June 28, 2021, she was ordained a Bishop and also reassigned to the New Jersey Diocese and appointed as the Assistant Bishop to the Florida East Coast Diocese.
In addition, Presiding Bishop Jamison has conducted numerous revivals wherein many souls were saved.
Community Service
As a community leader, she believes that the best leaders are servant leaders. This servant of God in years past was instrumental in coordinating through the American Red Cross, Hurricane Relief efforts not only in the state of Florida, but also in the state of South Carolina. Many families were provided assistance through her coordination of this relief program.
During her work tenure, she served as President of the School Improvement Team for several years and also worked with the Take Stock in Children Program.
Her community service work gained local and state recognition.

Presiding Bishop Jamison is the proud mother of one child, Deonne Jackson, the grandmother of Kanesha Jackson and great grandmother of Kennedi Marie.
